Financial Assistance If you encounter any financial difficulty at the beginning of the academic year or during your studies at PolyU, the Student Affairs Office is always there to help. Government Non-Means-Tested Loan Scheme This scheme offers assistance to local full-time and part-time students on government-funded or self-financed programmes, in the form of loans to cover tuition fees. Applications are non-means-tested. Administration fee and a relatively higher interest rate are charged. Details can be obtained from the Student Affairs Office ScholarshipsA number of scholarships are donated by organizations and individuals to postgraduate students. Normally, scholarships are recommended by Heads of Schools / Departments (based on academic merit). The Hong Kong Maritime ScholarshipThe Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HK Government) has set up the Hong Kong Maritime Scholarship (Scholarship) in PolyU for the academic year 2009/10# to support students enrolled on the full-time stream* under PolyU’s MSc in International Shipping and Transport Logistics programme (MScISTL). The Scholarship aims to expand the manpower of the maritime industry in Hong Kong . #Details of the Scholarship Scheme are subject to final approval. *The full-time stream of MScISTL is only applicable to Scholarship recipients and not open to other applicants.
