What You Will Gain from The Programme

This programme is for executives in the fields of supply chain management and logistics. It is designed to equip students to meet current and future needs in the supply chain management profession by creating and sustaining competitiveness in the supply chain through cost, quality and efficiency.

Programme Objectives

  • Equip students with broad knowledge and skills in global supply chain management.
  • Provide students with a thorough grounding in subjects which lead to the knowledge and intellectual capability required for the understanding and critical analysis of supply chain management problems.
  • Introduce to students, in a coherent and systematic  way, the body of knowledge and concepts which constitute the discipline of supply chain management.
  • Enhance students' awareness of the global supply chain management environment and the management issues.
  • Help students develop key skills in order to function effectively in global supply chain management.

Professional Recognition

  • Graduates of the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management are granted full exemption from the Qualifying Examination of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong.
  • Graduates of the PgD in Global Supply Chain Management are granted partial exemption from the Qualifying Examination of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong.
  • Graduates of the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management are granted accreditation by The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) and may apply for full membership, when having taken several subjects in the programme.

* The offering of subjects is subject to class quota availability.

Students at MSc level are allowed to choose 1 Elective, equivalent to 3 credits, from the GSB Common Pool to fulfill the Elective requirements of the programme. Please visit the website http://www.gsb.polyu.edu.hk/gsbelectives.htm for subject lists and subject syllabuses.

Students should strictly comply with the prescriptions of the programme curriculum when performing subject registration. Those who fail to meet the programme requirements will NOT be allowed to graduate.

Credit transfer/exemption will not be granted for subjects chosen from the GSB Common Pool, unless the Elective Subject concerned falls within the programme curriculum. Please note that not all subjects will be offered every year and registration is subject to the availability of quota. Please refer to the AS's Student Page for subject details (e.g. subject syllabus, offering semester, class timetable).

Duration

For the MSc: Normally completed within 2.5 years. The maximum period of study is 5 years.

For the PgD: Normally completed within 1.5 years. The maximum period of study is 3 years.

Entrance Requirements

  • An honours Bachelor's degree in business-related discipline or equivalent.
  • For non-business degree holders, 2-year relevant working experience or relevant background knowledge is required.
  • Candidates in senior management positions possessing other academic qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Priority will be given to applicants with relevant working experience.

Suitable candidates may be invited to attend admission interviews.

Fee

The tuition fee is HK$126,000 per programme for MSc (30 credits) and HK$75,600 per programme for PgD (18 credits)
